“The Hayground School Student Film Festival is very much a product of the Hayground model of education evolving organically from student inquiries to developing programs to address them,” said Hayground teacher, Liz Bertsch. “I think one of our seven-year-old students summed it up best: ‘Some kids never get a chance to watch movies that kids make. It is interesting and fun to see movies made by other kids.'”
On Saturday, May 10, the Hayground School will host its inaugural Young Filmmakers’ Festival from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Students from the surrounding, who are under 16 years of age were eligible to submit work. Films were judged by a panel of Hayground students and experts in the field.
