WHBPAC Educational Programs Culminate With Magic Carpet Ride And Life Quandaries

After weeks of rehearsals, Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center’s Young Ensemble and Teen Theatre Troupe are ready to steal the spotlight during two final performances, which are open to the public.

Be whisked away during a magic carpet ride to Agrabah, the City of Enchantment, during a special show featuring a cast of 22 local students, ages 7 to 11. WHBPAC’s Young Ensemble performance of Disney’s Aladdin Kids will tell the astonishing story of the “street rat” who transformed into a prince with the assistance of a lovable, larger than-life genie. Based on the 1992 Disney film, children can see all their favorite Aladdin characters like Aladdin, Jasmine, Jafar, and Iago during the musical evening filled with thrilling mystical mayhem, and flying carpet rides.

Performances of Disney’s Aladdin Kids will take place on Friday, April 17th at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 18th at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15.

The student shows at WHBPAC continue with An Evening of David Ives. What happens if you could hit the reset button whenever something went wrong on a date? Is it possible for three monkeys at typewriters to eventually produce Hamlet, or will they just produce chaos? What happens when you live the life of a famous, dead French painter for a day? These intriguing questions and other interesting quandaries will be solved during seven short comedies performed by WHBPAC’s Teen Theatre Troupe.

An Evening of David Ives will take place on Friday, April 17th at 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 18th at 8 p.m. Admission is $15, but free for Middle School and High School students with a Student ID.
