“Whether you write, read, or enjoy songs, poetry, or books, join us for a night of inspiration as you get to know other writers and artists in our local community,” said author Jackie Taylor, who is hosting Poetry at the Pear.
On Thursday, February 18th, The Golden Pear Café is celebrating the written word in all forms during The Hamptons First Quarter Annual evening of Poetry at the Pear. From 6 to 8 p.m., all are invited to meet at the café’s Bridgehampton location to either listen to or take part in the readings. Participants are encouraged to recite excerpts from books, chapter books, and poetry. So whether you prefer Walt Whitman, Edgar Allan Poe, E.E. Cummings, Oscar Wilde, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, or someone more unknown, pick your favorite passage, come ready to read, and who knows, you may even leave with a new author to obsess over.
“I am so thankful that The Golden Pear is enabling the literary community in the Hamptons to come together and share our love for the written word,” added Taylor.
The series will be held quarterly throughout the year. Along with an evening of personalized literature, attendees will also enjoy local wines and delectable bites.
Admission to Poetry at the Pear is free, but reserving a spot to read is highly recommended.
The Golden Pear is located at 2462 Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton. For more information, contact Jackie Taylor at 631-626-7274 or visit www.goldenpearcafe.com.
