This summer, the Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation and Children’s Museum of the East End (CMEE) will welcome Hampton Ballet Theatre School (HBTS) who will perform a beloved classic.
“It is our 10th year doing our wonderful production of Peter and the Wolf,” shared Sara Jo Strickland, Director Hampton Ballet Theatre School. “I so enjoy this production because it is a total ‘locally sourced’ performance.”
A collaboration between the Hampton Ballet Theatre School, the Hampton Festival Orchestra and a surprise guest narrator, this performance is designed to enchant viewers of all ages.
“The talents of the dancers from the Hampton Ballet Theatre School, the beautiful orchestral interpretation of Prokoviev’s score by the Hampton Festival Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Andrew Perea and a guest narrator all join together and create a magical experience for young and old alike,” added Strickland.
Hampton Ballet Theatre School students, ranging from 4 to 18-years-old, will be joined by guest dancer Adam Baranello of the A&G Dance Company, who will play the role of the grandfather. Yuka Silvera has once again taken on the costume design.
The Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation (240 Edgemere Street, Montauk) performance will take place on Thursday, July 27 at 7 p.m. and the Children’s Museum of the East End (376 Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton) performance will be held on Tuesday, August 1 at 6 p.m. Tickets begin at $15.
