Poetry lovers will have one last chance to watch the East Hampton Poetry Marathon unfold at the East Hampton Library.
The featured readers are “local notables who celebrate among other things our East End light and landscape,” said Dee Slavutin, who hosts the marathon. All of the poets reading are participants in a group that meets weekly for a poetry workshop at the library.
Carole Stone, Walter Donway, Dee Slavutin, Carol Sherman, Pauline Yeats, Carolyn Bistrian and Dan Hays will headline the Marathon finale.
Ms. Slavutin rescued the series last year, re-launching it into a full blown poetry marathon. The East Hampton Poetry Marathon has been around for 23 years and is under the auspices of the East Hampton Historical Society.
Additionally, the Bridgeport Community radio station, WPKN, will be recording the session to broadcast in the future as part of the Maritime Museum Poetry Marathon series which can be heard on East End Ink at 89.5 FM.
The East Hampton Poetry Marathon will be held on Monday, August 28 at 5:30 p.m.
