Toast to the Summer, The Best Bars in the Hamptons

Home Dining

Here in the Hamptons, our nights are as bright as days, and our bar scene delivers every vibe for any aesthetic. The Hamptons bar scene has everything, whether you crave a bustling dance floor or a relaxed ambiance. Gathering over a glass of rosé is in our DNA, but if you’re new here, we’re happy to help share our favorite Hamptons hotspots!

Elevate your evenings and immerse yourself in the vibrant nightlife in the Hamptons with our Toast to the Summer: Best Bars in the Hamptons Guide for Summer 2025! Where are the celebrities drinking? Favorite bartender? Craftiest craft cocktails? Hidden local gems? Best sunsets? Looking for live music? Let’s explore!

Murfs Backstreet Tavern — Iconic | Raucous | Fun

One of the most iconic bars in the Hamptons, this rustic cabin is a throwback to a time when Sag Harbor was home to more than 25 bars. Murfs is always a good time with a devoted local crew and some of the hardest-working bartenders I’ve ever known. Tired of upscale and fancy? Murfs is a true dive bar with all the character and charm you could ever want in a bar.

Calissa – Mediterranean | Dinner & Drinks | VIP Late Night

Find the beating heart of the Mediterranean in the heart of the Hamptons at Calissa in Water Mill. It’s one of my favorite places to dance out East. Chic is an understatement. When you see photos of beautiful people dancing in the Hamptons, they’re probably taken at Calissa. Beyond the buzzy guest lists, performers, and elevated mixology, Calissa is a fantastic restaurant. A rarity out East, Calissa has real club energy and vibe.

Rosies — Cosmopolitan | Late Night Food | Great Music

Rosie’s is the Hamptons’ “Goldilocks bar”—not too crowded and not too empty; not too fancy and not too dive-y; not Murfs and not Mobys—Rosies is just right! That makes it sound like the bar is defined by what it isn’t, but that isn’t true. Rosies’ identity is entirely its own, and I always feel right at home with the other clientele. Rosie’s finds the right balanced mix of cosmopolitan and coastal-casual sensibilities—eating, drinking, and togethering—perfectly representing the Hamptons.

The Blue Parrot — Beachy | Outdoor Patio | Margaritas

Loved by locals and visitors alike for its chill vibe, great nachos, and STRONG margaritas. Featuring a bright, beachy concept and a large covered patio, The Parrot is a great place to meet old friends and make new ones. Sitting in a small nook just off Main Street in East Hampton Village, the Blue Parrot is big enough that you’ll have space inside and outside while remaining cozy and comfortable.

Shark Bar – In the Sun on the Stretch

Since Cerill’s left, the Stretch has been waiting for a scene like Shark Bar, and they absolutely deliver. The outdoor seating is ample, and the bar opens entirely to the patio. You can practically hear the waves crash. If you’re looking for a drink after the beach, this is for you. Their food program is not to be missed and has a considerable legacy of Hamptons culinary excellence.

Almond — Classic | Martini | Relaxing

Longtime favorite that never goes out of style in the heart of Bridgehampton Village. The last time I sat down at the bar, I spoke with a bartender who has been there for more than 25 years. We chatted about life in the area and local legends, and I had the best martini (with blue cheese olives)  I can remember. Classy. You’ll find me here for happy hour on a weekday night with a cocktail while I wait for traffic to die down. This is a bar review, but their food is incredible.

Bamboo– Impress Your Date

Looking to impress your date? Take them to Bamboo at Breakers Motel in Montauk. Not only does it have the best oceanviews of any bar in the Hamptons – everybody looks good in natural light! The bar is beachy but chic and the drinks are Montauk-approved and the vibe is the best blend of locals and visitors around.

Wölffer Estate Vineyard — Elegant | Upscale | Somme

World-renowned vineyard home to the iconic Summer in a Bottle. The Tasting Room is an elegant and refined space with chic, seasonal furnishings and amazing service. Opening at 11 am every day of the week, the Tasting Room is a great way to enjoy an afternoon overlooking the vineyard. Make sure you check out their in-venue wine store!

Marlena’s Packout – A Drinking Village with a Fishing Problem

If you haven’t been to Marlena’s Packout in Montauk, don’t miss this summer, for real. Back by popular demand – A local favorite and iconic location at the former Liars Saloon on the marina. The bar identity is so full of community love and history, that they don’t mind if you call Marlena’s Pack Out as Liars Saloon as long as you check out the new bar!

The Stephen Talkhouse – Legendary | Iconic | Live Music

If you know the Hamptons, you know The Stephen Talkhouse. It’s one of the most popular and celebrated bars in Amagansett, and the bartenders are celebrities. Casual and fun, it’s known for its lively atmosphere, unbelievable energy, great live music, and massive outdoor patio. Whether you’re looking for a cold beer or a stiff drink, you’ll find it at the Stephen Talkhouse. Ask EJ about his THPS2 records!

The Sagaponack Farm Distillery – Day drinking | Craft Cocktails | Family Friendly

HIDDEN GEM: My favorite spot for an early evening or afternoon drink. Craft cocktails, local spirits, unbeatable vibe. Bring your family and lots of space for kids to run around outside. The Distillery hosts an impressive summer event series with exciting local collaborations and live music. One of my favorite locations in the Hamptons, especially in the evening, I can’t think of a more serene setting.

Corner Bar – A Sag Harbor Staple

This unpretentious corner pub has held court since the late ’70s at Main and Bay. Think cozy old-school vibes, friendly regulars, and well‑worn barstools where locals and visitors mix over a pint. Their signature Cod Bites and the hearty Manhattan clam chowder are reliably crowd‑pleasers, and indoor and outdoor seating means it’s easy to linger through a full afternoon or sideline banter during the game.

Baker House – Elevated & Intimate in the Village

Not a bar’s bar, but don’t miss out on this one. Baker House 1650 offers an intimate, upscale bar experience. With its historic charm and elegant ambiance, it’s the perfect spot for sophisticated cocktails and fine wines. Enjoy a refined evening in their lush garden or cozy library, making every visit a memorable escape.

Gig Shack – Made in Montauk

Tell Gray Hamptons.com sent you! A local institution – don’t leave Montauk without a visit. Gig Shack nails that perfect Montauk mix—killer live music, easy bar vibes, and fish tacos that hit every time. Locals call it “The Shack,” (do they really tho?) and if you know, you know.  It’s the kind of place where you come for a drink and accidentally stay all night.

Si Si’s / East Hampton Point – The Best Dancing in the Hamptons

Once the sun sets, Si Si’s comes alive. If you haven’t been to Si Si’s nightlife life you aren’t living the Hamptons Summer to the fullest. That sounds like an advertisement, but it’s just the truth. DJ GR1FFN is awesome and keeps the mood just right. The DJ booth is also right up on the dance floor, so you can make requests (tastefully, of course).

Bostwick’s Chowder House — Daytime | Seafood | Friendly

One of the best restaurants in the Hamptons, the Chowder House’s bar is the perfect place for an afternoon drink and some baked clams. Every time I go, I meet new, interesting people, and the bar staff is super friendly. My favorite bar for an after-beach trip; the atmosphere is easy to love and non-pretentious. The bar is cozy, but there is plenty of room on the side patio, with bar access. Say hi to Robbie at the bar!

The Springs Tavern — Local Haunt | Great Food | Spacious

Charming neighborhood bar in the center of Springs. Recently renovated and serving great food, the bar is always filled with friendly locals from around Springs. Be warned – the shots are BIG, but they have a great Tequila selection (No Casa Amigos!!), so bottoms up!

The Montauket — Best Sunsets in the Hamptons

No bar compares to the sunset views from the Montauket overlooking For Pond Bay to the West. Named after the Native American Tribe from eastern Long Island, the bar speaks to the Hamptons’ history as a fishing community. Also, they have a mega cute thrift store onsite! Great atmosphere, bands play outside, and a double-sided bar lets you order drinks from the patio.

J Cassidy, Shaggy and Wyclef Jean perform at The Surf Lodge in Montauk

The Surf Lodge –  Essence + Energy of Modern Montauk

Surf Lodge in the Summer is one of the Hamptons’ most celebrated (exclusive) and iconic experiences, highlighting Montauk’s laid-back luxury while hosting who’s who of blue-chip musical guests. Chicken Finger Tower is still on the menu and a perfect option on an elevated evening or bougie brunch in the sun.

75 Main —  Chic | Club | Late Night Kitchen

Featured on Bravo’s “Serving the Hamptons,” this is a great place to people-watch. Great for a pre-dinner drink or a nightcap. 75 Main is a chic bar and restaurant located on Main Street (obvi) in Southampton Village. Stylish, fun, and a great sound system. The menu is better than you would think. Maybe you’ll see yourself on TV??

I first noticed 55 Wickatuck Drive in Sag Harbor because the gorgeously redesigned home had a real point of view—calm, edited, and quietly specific. That is, it felt like a home, not a project. The styling is intentional without feeling staged: elevated finishes, relaxed coastal ease, a level of cohesion that shows someone cared about the home’s full experience, not just the high-impact moments.

Even after the home sold, something about the property stayed with me. Luckily for me, the real estate agent who sold the property, Sarah Doud, picks up her phone when I call (to be fair, she would probably answer your call, too). She told me the renovation and interiors were designed by STUDIOBKM and Brian K. Mims, a studio approach centered on luxury that simplifies living rather than complicating it. The spaces feel restorative, considered, and durable enough to handle real life in the Hamptons: sandy feet, wet dogs, last-minute guests, all of it.

  • The Peconic Land Trust hosted A Legacy in Bloom, a dinner that drew a philanthropic crowd to Omar’s at La Goulue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The enchanting, garden-inspired evening blended elegance with purpose—celebrating conservation while engaging the next generation of land stewards.

Chaired by Natalie Glaser and Jesse Williamson, the event brought together conservation supporters and cultural figures united by a shared commitment to preserving the natural beauty and agricultural heritage of Long Island. The host committee, united by a passion for land and legacy, included Georgina Bloomberg, Sylvia Channing, Elijah and Katy Duckworth-Schachter, Kaitlin Flynn, Amanda Starbuck Hanlan and Trey Hanlan, Harry LeFrak, Caroline Meade, Matt Raynes, Nicole Rubin, Donna Simonelli, Peter Smith, Jonathan and Lizzie Tisch, and George Wells.

Omar Hernandez, renowned international creative director for hospitality, set the stage against a candlelit, floral-filled backdrop, guests mingled in an atmosphere that reflected the spirit of the Trust’s mission—where land, legacy, and community converge.

More than a celebration, the evening served as a call to action: to inspire stewardship, cultivate awareness, and invest in the future of protected landscapes. A Legacy in Bloom highlighted the Peconic Land Trust’s ongoing commitment to conservation through education and meaningful engagement.
