This weekend, we experienced the first taste of Spring. I took my pup for a beach walk on Cold Spring Harbor yesterday, and the shorebreak resembled glass. The sky reflected that same energy with not a cloud in sight– something good was in the air.
When the temperatures rise above 50 degrees, it calls for a drink or bite to eat outside. While we haven’t quite welcomed the crowds that accompany the Hamptons come Summertime, I have seen a noticeable increase in the number of people strolling down Main Street in the mornings and evenings. I think everyone is waking up from their winter slumber. Some of my favorite places to dine al fresco and people-watch will be opening up their outdoor seating soon. So, we put together just a few of our favorite spots.
Cowfish- Hampton Bays
Nothing beats a Cowfish Rum Punch and a sunset that matches its coloring. Grab a sweater because the Canal breeze can be brisk in the Spring, but it’s the perfect precursor to Summer fun.
Le Charlot- Southampton
South of France meets The Hamptons. The outdoor seating at Le Charlot puts you directly in the heart of Main Street, Southampton. Heat lamps and faux palm trees really set the mood.
Shippy’s- Southampton
Come this Spring, Shippy’s will be opening up their alley-side seating. Although nestled slightly away from the sidewalk strollers, their alley seating ambiance brings romance. String lighting up above and pebbles below translate to a backyard garden experience.
Baron’s Cove- Sag Harbor
While the Harbor breeze might still be a little brisk for outdoor dining, it could pair well with a pre-dinner drink with friends. Warm up by the fireplace while enjoying the sunset on their Adirondack chairs.
Elaia Estiatorio- Bridgehampton
I recently had a delicious and refreshing salad from Elaia Estiatorio that I think will be my Summer go-to. Nothing tastes better after a day in the sun than a tart red wine vinaigrette and some fresh cucumbers. Make sure to check their Instagram to find out when street-side seating officially begins.
Sunset Beach- Shelter Island
It’s never too early for a Sunset Beach night. Until June 22nd, they’ll only be operating on the weekends. I’m no psychic, but I see a weekend trip to Sunset Beach in your future.
Blue Parrot Bar and Grill- East Hampton
What sounds better than some fresh guacamole and a Spring breeze? To me- nothing. Blue Parrot Bar and Grill in East Hampton is tucked away from the buzzing Main Street of East Hampton and has a fun outside setup.
