Molly Levine, formerly of Carissa’s, returns to the Hamptons for a special weekend at Sagaponack Farm Distillery from August 26–28. Westerly Canteen, a mobile restaurant operated from a vintage Airstream, is collaborating with the Distillery to celebrate the late summer bounty of field and sea.
Stop by the Tap Room on Friday and Saturday from 1–7pm for casual a la carte offerings from Westerly Canteen and live music starting at 3pm. On Sunday, there is a ticketed special five-course dinner paired with seed-to-glass cocktails. Click here for more information on the weekend event.
The Sagaponack Farm Distillery continues an impressive summer event series with this exciting collaboration with Westerly Canteen. The Distillery’s space is one of my favorite locations in the Hamptons; especially in the evening, I can’t think of a more serene setting for a late summer feast. You definitely don’t want to miss out on this intimate and elevated dinner.
The menu, sourced almost entirely from Marilee’s and other Sagaponack farmstands, is available below (personally, I cannot wait to try the local corn cake). I love chef-selected courses because I don’t have to worry if I ordered the right dishes. I have been known to panic order and then regret my choice, sometimes I get overwhelmed trying to select my meal or jealous when I see what someone else ordered. What a relief that Chef Molly Levine has removed that ordering stress by designing the courses and pairings herself.
Molly is a bicoastal chef committed to earnest farm-to-table cookery. Her formative years working at Chez Panisse, Alice Water’s famed Berkeley, CA restaurant, defined her unwavering principles in seasonality, locality, and sustainability and formed the backbone of her culinary style.
She took her breadth of skills back to her East Coast roots, to run a restaurant on Martha’s Vineyard followed by a move to the East End of Long Island whereby she helmed the expansion of the beloved Carissa’s bakery into the notable restaurant it has become on Pantigo Road. Molly produces intimate farm dinners, collaborates with wineries, consults for restaurants and agritourism, and recently launched, Westerly Canteen: a roving restaurant housed in a 1971 Airstream.
