The Westhampton Free Library is pleased to announce that it is once again one of several Suffolk County libraries to be awarded an American Star designation from the Library Journal, one of the oldest and most respected publications covering the library field. The library received a five-star rating.
This is the 12th year that the Westhampton Free Library received a prestigious distinction from the Library Journal.
The Library Journal’s star ratings are based on a library’s annual patron visits, circulation, program attendance and public internet computer use. The data is compiled annually by public libraries, reported to their states’ library agencies, and compiled nationally by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
“The library has worked very hard to ensure that we provide the community with stellar programming and services that are both helpful and educational,” said Westhampton Free Library Director Danielle Waskiewicz. “This award demonstrates the hard work of our staff and support of the community.”
