
The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center will welcome classical piano (and sibling) duo Jacopo and Maddalena Giacopuzzi to its MainStage on May 28th at 8pm. This performance is generously sponsored by Marcus Stinchi. “Classical piano is a beloved tradition, and the WHBPAC is proud to showcase these incredibly talented musicians who are at the peak of their prowess,” says WHBPAC Executive Director Julienne Penza-Boone.
Born in Italy to a family of pianists, Jacopo studied in Weimar at the Liszt Hochschule, earned his first Master`s Degree cum laude in Piano performance, a Master`s in Sound Design at the Conservatory of Verona, obtained a Diploma at the International Piano Academy of Imola Incontri col Maestro with Leonid Margarius. He completed his studies as a graduate in Piano Performance at the University of Southern California.
Since she was a child Maddalena Giacopuzzi has distinguished herself in the musical overview by winning the First Prize in several National and International Competitions: in 2016 she won the Third Prize at the Rina Sala Gallo Piano Competition in Monza and in 2015 she won the First Prize at the 53rd “A. Speranza” International Piano Competition in Taranto and at the 6th Massarosa International Piano Competition. She has performed as soloist with the Orchestra of the Arena in Verona, Orchestra Monteverdi of Bozen, the Haydn Orchestra of Trento and Bozen, the Orchestra Verdi of Milan, the Orchestra of Sanremo, Orquestra Sinfonica del Estado de Mexico. Maddalena Giacopuzzi received the diploma at the Conservatory “E. F. Dall’Abaco” in Verona with full marks, laude, and a mention of honor. During the years 2010-2015 she attended the Accademia “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola.
As soloists and chamber musicians, Jacopo and Maddalena have performed recitals at major festivals, venues, and concert halls throughout the United States, Europe and Japan. Jacopo is a winner of 14 international competitions including the International Piano Competition San Dona` di Piave, Ibiza International Piano Competition, International Liszt Competition in Los Angeles, and the Beverly Hills National Auditions.
