Annual Benefit Chili-Chowder Contest Celebrating 20th Anniversary

A chili and chowder thrown down to be remembered is about to go down at Boardy Barn in Hampton Bays.

On Sunday, September 16, the Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce will present its 20th Annual Chili-Chowder Contest.

“The Chili-Chowder Contest is an annual tradition in Hampton Bays that we all look forward to,” Lars Clemensen, Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce Vice President, noted. “The money raised supports the Chamber’s efforts to promote Hampton Bays and also to support our scholarship program.”

From 12 to 3 p.m. the community is invited to taste iterations of the classic comfort foods from Cowfish, Rumba, One North Steakhouse, Shuckers, Steamfitters Local 638, Hampton Bays Fire Department, and the Hampton Bays High School, and help decide who will earn the People’s Choice Award. There will also be a Chinese Auction.

“The Boardy Barn is endlessly gracious in having hosted this great event for 20 years!” Clemensen added.
