The 32nd Hamptons International Film Festival kicks off this Friday, and while you peruse their prime selection of films from around the world, Hamptons.com has curated a list of fine local restaurants for a quick drink or delicious meal in between your movie experiences.
East Hampton
Village Bistro
Located at 10 Main St, East Hampton, NY 11937
The inside of the restaurant is cozy and warm, striking the perfect balance between elegance and casual comfort. Walking in, you see a bar on the left side with stunning brass lighting fixturesโideal for grabbing a drink with friends or family. The beer tap features local favorite Colossal Squid Double IPA from Kidd Squid in Sag Harbor. If you are in the mood for a cocktail, they have a Classic Jalapeรฑo Rita, French Tart, or my favorite, a Grand, featuring Grand Marnier, lemon juice, Henri Dubois, and champagne. Salute!

1770 House
Located at 143 Main St, East Hampton, NY 11937
The entrees were unforgettable. Thatโs the only word I have for it. Very rarely is a meal presented to me and I think to myself, โHow were they able to do this?โ But thatโs what happened to me at the 1770 House. We had that California rabbit braised in carrot and parmesan broth with hand-cut fettuccine, garlic chive, pesto, mustard greens and hazelnuts. I meanโฆdid you read that last sentence? Is that not the most wonderful combination youโve ever heard of? It was sensational.

Sag Harbor
Lulu Kitchen & Bar
Located 126 Main St, Sag Harbor, NY 11963
Itโs super chic and sophisticated inside. The bar at LuLu is unforgettable. The beers on tap offer a good selection of local brews, including Sag Harborโs very own Kidd Squiddโs IPA, and several unique imported beers you donโt see every day, like the Chimay lager. Beyond the bar is an open kitchen featuring an open oven where classically trained chefs prepare pristine food for the restaurant, almost as if performing a ballet. Staple items, such as a whole head of cauliflower roasted in the oven and delicately placed on a wood serving tray surrounded by various roasted grapes and flavors, are mesmerizing as they emerge from the kitchen. Their motto is โwhere the past meets the future,โ and you will definitely feel that once you step inside. You are transported back in time. The retro-inspired interior features a red-checkered floor, yellow metal swivel bar stools, and custom baseball card posters. The bebop music also makes you feel like you just left your high school sock hop and are meeting up with friends for a quick bite.
