After being devastated by a fire during the dinner rush on the evening of June 28, the building which houses the Athens Grill restaurant on East Main Street in Rivehead was destroyed. To raise funds for the beloved Greek restaurant, the Suffolk Theater is hosting an evening featuring local bands and great Greek food on Sautrday, July 27 at 7 p.m.
During the benefit, Athens Grill owner and chef John Mantzopoulos will help out by doing what he loves most, cooking up some tasty Greek specialties. The evening will include performances by riveting East End bands Who Are Those Guys, Misspent Youth, and Craving Strange.
“This is the worst thing that could have happened (for the restaurant),” explained Mantzopoulos. “At least no life was lost.”
All proceeds will benefit the Athens Grill restoration project. Donations begin at $20 and tickets are available at the Suffolk Theater Box Office or at the door.
The Suffolk Theater is located at 118 East Main Street in Riverhead. For more information call 631-727-4343 or visit www.suffolktheater.com.
