On Friday, August 11, Guild Hall in East Hampton will fête photographer, writer, philanthropist and businesswomen Bonnie Lautenberg, as well as present an exclusive preview of its new exhibition during The Black and White Summer Gala: Celebrating ‘Avedon’s America’.
“This year’s summer gala, Celebrating ‘Avedon’s America’ is already attracting artists, actors, writers, and fashion influencers for a really fun night to benefit Guild Hall and its year round arts programming,” shared Barbara-Jo Howard, Director of Marketing & Communications at Guild Hall.
Hosted by April Gornik, the evening will also include music by Yung Jake – whose Emoji Portraits is currently on display at Tripoli Gallery in Southampton, delicious cocktails, dining and an unmissable fine art and luxury experience auction hosted by Gabriela Palmeri.
The star of the evening is Avedon’s America, an exhibition that highlights a culmination of over 50 years of America through photographer Richard Avedon’s eyes. Avedon’s America focuses on a deeper understanding of the nation’s ideology. There is a feature of cultural significance spanning from the Civil Rights Movement to the Vietnam War, and important American figureheads in-between.
The summer soiree will start at Guild Hall at 5 p.m. with VIP access to an exclusive exhibition preview of Avedon’s America. At 7 p.m., partygoers will make their way to the Devon Colony Home of Lucy and Steven Cookson for a memorable evening of music, dancing, dining, and art.
Additionally, Questlove will DJ Guild Hall’s Summer Gala After Party.
Cocktails Only Tickets (access to the exhibition preview at Guild Hall and the cocktails at the event site) are $500 and Patron Tickets (includes dinner seating and listing in the gala program) are $1,250. Young Patron Tickets start at $50.
