While it might not be peak beach season yet – Citizens for Access Rights (CfAR), a group of East End residents who support open access to local beaches, is hosting a must-attend for beach lovers that adore being tested on random facts at the Amagansett American Legion Hall.
“Our annual Trivia Night has become a tradition,” Nicole Castillo of CfAR noted. “Our members and Hamptons trivia buffs look forward to it and it gives us a chance to remind people that beach season is coming up.”
Teams of four are welcome to challenge their knowledge on Friday, March 2 – while supporting CfAR’s efforts to protect beach access on the East End. Those who find themselves team less may also sign up and CfAR will add them to a team.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the friendly competition – a cash prize is on the line for the first place team – starts at 7 p.m. When you need to hit pause on the puzzling queries, you can take a snack or refreshment break – both of which will be available for purchase.
“CFAR promises some challenging trivia this year!” Castillo added.
Admission is $25 per person and $20 for 2018 CfAR members. To register in advance send your team name to [email protected].
All proceeds from Trivia Night will go to CfAR’s efforts to protect beach access on the East End.
Citizens for Access Rights was established “in response to two lawsuits in which private individuals are claiming to own the ocean beach at Napeague.” The organization supports “the Trustees, the Town Board and any other governmental body, which is willing to oppose the privatization of our beaches,” but is not affiliated with any political party. CfAR’s missions include “the preservation of our right to enjoy local beaches, one of our most valuable assets and donating funds to the Town Trustees for stewardship of local beaches.”
