The Breast Cancer Research Foundation hosted its annual Hot Pink Party on Wednesday, April 17 2013. The party, which was held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City raised more than $5.2 million for lifesaving breast cancer research funding and awareness. The ¡Viva Fiesta! themed event, was emceed by devoted breast cancer awareness advocate, Elizabeth Hurley and featured a performance by Multi-Grammy Award-winning artist Sir Elton John.
Throughout the night, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation awarded recipients for their ongoing work. A highlight of the night was when award-winning actress Kay Krill, President and CEO of ANN INC, was honored for her outstanding leadership in the fight against breast cancer with the Foundation’s Sandra Taub Humanitarian Award. During her speech Kate Hudson explained, “Breast cancer has touched people close to me as it has touched the lives of so many of us, so I want to personally thank BCRF for helping to put an end to this devastating disease. Approximately every 13 minutes a woman will die of breast cancer. We must change this, and together, with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, we will.”
