The Rising Stars Piano Series 10th Anniversary Celebration will continue on Saturday, October 5, with Anthony Molinaro, Pianofest Distinguished Artist and Jazz Pianist. The concert will take place at the Levitas Center for the Arts in the Southampton Cultural Center, starting at 7 p.m.
Molinaro, which the Chicago Tribune described as “Genre-defying… An original, often iconoclastic thinker equipped with a leonine technique,” will perform new recordings which explore the music of The Beatles.
The evening will also include the pianist’s distinctive interpretations of classic songs like “The Long and Winding Road,” “Blackbird,” and “Yesterday,” as well as Molinaro’s Prelude and Fugue based on “Norwegian Wood” and a theme from “In My Life.” Music from Debussy, Brahms, and Rachmaninoff will also be featured.
Tickets are $15 for general admission and no charge for students under 21. They are available online or at the door 40 minutes before the performance.
The Levitas Center for the Arts at Southampton Cultural Center is located at 25 Pond Lane in Southampton. For more information call 631-287-4377 or visit www.scc-arts.org.
