On Friday June 10th through Sunday June 12 the Parrish Art Museum presents Landscape Pleasures, starting with a film screening and talk open to the public. Registered guests to the annual horticultural event are invited to attend the symposium on Saturday, featuring renowned landscape architects, and to stroll through self-guided private gardens on Sunday.
The Saturday symposium at the Museum features leaders in landscape architecture and design David Hocker, Laurie Olin and Joe Wahler. On Sunday, registrants enjoy self-guided tours of five extraordinary private gardens on the East End. Tickets of Landscape Pleasures start at $200 for Museum members/$250 for Non-Members, and include admission to the symposium and garden tours.
The weekend kicks off On Friday at 6:00 pm, the Parrish will screen the film The Gardener, co-presented with Hamptons DocFest. The documentary tells the story of Les Quatre Vents, the 20-acre English-style garden and summer estate created by the influential gardener and plantsman Frank Cabot. Directed by Sebastien Chabot, the film reflects upon the meaning of gardening and its impact on our lives. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with horticulturist Alicia Whitaker, former president of the Horticultural Alliance of the Hamptons. Admission is $15 for general public; $5 for Museum members and students. Registration is required, and attendees are encouraged to visit parrishart.org for COVID-19 guidelines.

will present “Steering from Pole to Pole: Forces at Play in Making Contemporary Landscapes”
David Hocker, Founder & Lead Designer, HOCKER, will present “Capturing the Spirit of the Modern Garden.” Hocker extracts influence from surrounding architecture and contextual influences to create outdoor spaces with a clear aesthetic.
Joe Wahler, Principal at STIMSON, a leader in progressive design, material application and detailing, and the execution of innovative and performative landscapes, will present “Relationships in Making Gardens for our Time”
